About the Artist
Paul Klee (1879–1940) was a Swiss-German painter and Bauhaus master who spent his career at the edge of what a picture could do. He drew equally from music, mathematics, color theory, and the drawings children make before they learn rules. He made over 9,000 works in his lifetime. He never made the same thing twice.
